In my work, I combine sculpture, video, and research. My material-based practice is rooted in an experimental approach in which industrially manufactured materials, found objects, and organic components such as plants exist in a non-hierarchical relationship with one another. Plants often play a central role in my work and reflect cultural, historical, and economic contexts. These botanical elements embody a transient aesthetic that highlights their mutability—they appear both familiar and alien. In this work, I explore the coexistence of different species as well as the complex relationship between humans and the environment, with the sea playing a recurring role as a fundamental force in my artistic practice. My work aims to develop alternative ways of thinking by challenging traditional views of nature. In my pieces, organic and industrial materials merge to form new creatures that embody a shared existence. Bodies—such as those of humans and plants—are often in a state of dissolution, characterized by an openness to transformation and the continuous unfolding of new states of being.
